Survey

Technical assessment
Once you have registered your interest in the National Home Retrofit Scheme, an Energlaze energy consultant will contact you by phone to discuss your requirements and provide information on our process.

If your home is deemed suitable for an Energy Upgrade, we will book an appointment for an independent technical BER assessor to call to your home. They will determine its suitability for cost optimal energy upgrades to reach a minimum B2 rating.

The assessment will also provide details of your home’s heat loss by measuring your home’s HLI (Heat Loss Indicator) and determine its suitability for installing a heat pump. If you have a current BER certificate you will be asked some details about your current energy rating, and any improvements you have made since that BER was issued.

Note: There is a cost of €585 for the Technical BER assessment, however, it is refunded in full if you decide to proceed with the retrofit.

Estimate

We then provide a full report which includes indicative costs and grant details.

Report

Based on the Technical BER Assessment we will provide a detailed proposal, recommending the optimal upgrades to achieve a B2 BER or better.

Once you’re happy with the recommended improvements we will send an engineer to conduct a detailed survey of the individual measures required to deliver a successful energy upgrade.

Estimate

We will finalise the works specifications and estimate the cost to deliver the agreed BER Rating, discuss the cost optimal options and provide details of finance options available to you.

Complete

Proceed with the recommended upgrades and grant process.

The final steps

Up to 35% is available in grants from the SEAI and If you’re happy with our proposed upgrades and costs, we will make a detailed application to the SEAI on your behalf.

Energlaze and Bord Gáis Energy will handle the grants process from start to finish. We will collect the grant on your behalf, thus ensuring that should you decide to proceed with the proposed works, your maximum outlay is limited to circa 65% of the total upgrades cost.

Note: This application process is charged at 250 and refundable if you choose to proceed.

All guarantees and warranties will be issued once the job has been completed.

We provide an after sales service to follow up and ensure upgrades are delivered according  to plan.
